Talking to Jesus?
A little scary?

Talking to Jesus...Does that sound a little intimidating? A little scary?
Don't be afraid. Like I have said before. Jesus used to be a child too..and a teenager. He knows what you are going through. He knows pressure, he knows pain, he knows fear... If you read the Bible, the night the soldiers came to get him, in the garden where he was praying. All of his deciples, his "friends" were sleeping while he was feeling scared and alone. Knowing that he was going to suffer and die. He asked God if there was any way the future could be changed so that he wouldn't have to go through all of the agony he knew he would have to endure. He KNOWS what fear is.
You can trust him with yours. So, how do you go about asking him to be your friend and companion?
First of all, to talk to Jesus, you need to picture him as a child. Just a simple child just like you. Picture him smiling at you with big brown eyes and holding out his hand in friendship. Close your eyes and imagine you reaching out your hand to take his hand in yours.
Here are some words you can say if you want:
"Jesus, I really want you to be my friend. I would like you to be with me all the time..especially when I feel scared and alone. I know you love me, I love you too. Help me to do the right things every day. I promise to try to be a good friend to you. Come into my heart and be my savior, Amen"

If you are a teenager, to talk to him, you may want to picture Jesus a little older, maybe your own age. Maybe as a teenager who has gone through some difficult times and made it through to the other side. If you have an absent or abusive father, maybe you need to picture him as a loving father. He is and can be whoever you need him to be as your best friend. Picture him in your mind..with outstretched arms...longing to hold you. His arms are safe, secure, non-threatening, full of love and understanding. You so need to be held. If you are from a broken home, you need the shelter of his arms. Let him into your heart. See the peace he can give to you.
Maybe your prayer might sound like this:
"Jesus..it is so hard for me to trust anyone. I need you..but I am so scared to let my guard down again. I want you in my life. I need your love and your friendship. I have so much to tell you..so much to share with you. I need you to hold me and never let go. Please come into my heart and be my personal savior. Let's talk every day..and maybe I can learn to trust you like I want to. Amen."

Maybe now you are understanding it is not what you say to Jesus..but that you say it. You can picture Jesus any way you want. For me, it helps to see him as a young adult. As a child, it helped me to see him as a child. You get my meaning, right?
After you invite him into your life, you will begin to see huge changes take place. talk to him on a regular basis. Let him be your BFF. Talk to him like he is your best friend. Share everything with him. Ask him for advice. I guarantee he will give it to you. Visualize your hearts desires, he will give them to you. He loves you soooo much!
Share your experience with others so that they can also ask Jesus into their lives. Let it become a domino effect.
We are all one big family through Christ. We are all sisters and brothers. Skin color, background, socioeconomic status etc doesn't matter! We are all God's children!
Jesus said "Love thy neighbor" NOT "Judge thy neighbor!" Please remember that!
We are here to love one another. Forgive one another. Practice mercy. Preach Peace. If we all have JC as our BFF, maybe this will become a reality that will encompass the world. It can. If we believe. Talk to Jesus. I personally guarantee you will be forever glad you did!
